Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  3. If desired, add any mix-ins during the last few minutes of churning, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the ice cream. Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container and smooth the top with a spatula.
  4. Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap and freeze the ice cream for at least 4-6 hours, or until it is firm and scoopable. Once the ice cream is fully frozen, remove it from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly before serving.
  5. Scoop the homemade ice cream into bowls or cones, and enjoy the creamy goodness of your creation. Experiment with different flavors and mix-ins to customize your ice cream to your liking, and savor every spoonful of your homemade masterpiece.
